چکیده
Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is a sore in the lining of stomach or duodenal mucosa. This study was aimed at evaluating antiulcer activity aqueous extract Nigella sativa (black seed) and its constitutents. The pharmacognostic properties dry seeds were determined. extracted using two methods digestion hydro-distillation. acute toxicity, phytochemical constituents evaluation performed on ethanol-induced wistar rats standard method. FTIR GC-MS analysis seed also determined methods. shows presence starch grains, lignified tissues, tannins, cellulose, protein oil globules. has high safety margin. studies revealed saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, fats oil. black 500 mg/kg significantly reduced acidity, total index, pH gastric content when compared with positive control (Famotidine). identified following functional groups chloro, ether, amine, carboxylic acid, nitriles, methylene, alcohol, while five compounds such as glycerin, n-Hexadecanoic 9, 12-octadecadienoic acid-methyl ester, acid 12-octadecadienoyl chloride. can act reliable tool for standardization plant part. suggests that possess properties. Thus be considered medication traditionally.
